Important Safety Message – Gas Hob Elbow Joints Corrective Action Programme
The above UK gas hob manufacturers have committed to undertake a corrective action programme to make certain hobs safe which have been identified as presenting a serious risk of poisoning, burns or gas explosion and/or fire. Further details on the hazard descriptions, in addition to other product identifiers, are available on the Product Safety Report page for each of the products linked under the “Read the Product Safety Reports” section above.
The 12 UK manufacturers have initiated a modification programme for certain products in scope of the safety issue. The companies will visit every home containing affected hobs and make them safe. OPSS is urging all affected members of the public, including those unsure whether they are impacted or not, to check the model links and contact the manufacturer. While all affected consumers should check the model links, owners and consumers in caravans, leisure homes and motorhomes should do this as a matter of urgency.
