ApplianceClinic

Independent UK appliance fault help

Understand what’s wrong with your appliance

Describe what it’s doing. We’ll help you narrow the likely cause, the safe checks worth making, and whether a component may need replacing — independently, and only as far as the evidence supports.

Not sure of the model? Photograph the rating plate — usually inside the door, around the frame, or on the back — or search by model.

How it works

  1. Describe the faultTell us what the appliance is doing, in your own words.
  2. Narrow the causeA few focused questions rule likely causes in or out.
  3. Check safelySimple checks you can make, with safety guidance first.
  4. Decide what to doFix it, call an engineer, or a part if the evidence supports it.

A component only if the evidence supports it.

Household appliances we can help diagnose

Open a Help Hub for safe checks and what a symptom usually means — or skip the reading and describe the problem in the box above.

Error codes and “which part is faulty” questions belong in the same conversation. We do not publish your chat, and we do not create a public page per symptom.

Independent, retailer-neutral guidance

We help you understand the fault first. A replacement part is suggested only if the evidence justifies one, and we do not sell parts ourselves. ApplianceClinic is not a manufacturer, not a repair company, and not authorised by any brand.

Safe checks, not unsafe DIY

ApplianceClinic may suggest simple consumer checks. It will stop or tell you to use a qualified engineer when the situation involves mains electricity, gas, microwave high voltage, or water and electrics together. Follow any safety guidance shown in the conversation. A part suggestion depends on the evidence you give, and often on the model number.

Safety & recalls

UK appliance safety recalls — official OPSS notices for the nine household appliances we cover. Separate from fault diagnosis; we do not issue recalls.
